The Nintendo DS & Sony PSP Stress Tests!

Round 1 - Aqua Life

I submerged both the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP in a tank of water and let it sit for 30 minutes. Here's what happened afterwards.

After 2 hours:
DS turned on, but sound was staticy and the screens just flashed, didn't load anything.
PSP turned on, had no sound, but the system loaded. Game couldn't be played.

After 5 hours:
DS worked fine as if never submerged.
PSP worked fine as if never submerged.

Round 2 - Smash It!

Both the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP were treated to a little torment with a hammer. Here's the outcome.

1 hit with a hammer:
DS got some scratches, but loaded and played fine.
PSP got some scratches, but loaded and played fine.

Smash with a sledge hammer:
DS got more scratches, and the top screen cracked in the middle. Loaded and played fine.
PSP got more scratches, and it's screen cracked in 2 places, one on each side. Loaded and played fine.

Round 3 - The Drop

For this, I dropped it from the balcony at my house and landed on concrete.

First drop:
DS's top screen shattered, but the bottom screen didn't take damage. Loaded and played fine on the bottom screen.
PSP's screen shattered and wouldn't turn on. That's the end of the Sony PSP.

Second drop (just for fun):
Ds got more scratches, and the top screen has some wicked colors. The hinge broke on the side as well.
PSP lost some buttons, and all else is still crap.

In conclusion, the Nintendo DS, while still breakable, turned out to be more durable than the Sony PSP, that is now in pieces at the dump. I hope you enjoyed this stress test!
